History of Color Television

Up to 1954 television was broadcast exclusively in black and white. Even though color television was introduced in the mid 1950s, these televisions were far too expensive for the average viewer. Color television didn't become a mainstay until well into the 1960s. At the Color Television Revolution you can find a history of early color television, various color network logos like the early NBC peacock, and even a Color Television Tape Recorder.
